WP7 Kudos and a Diasaster

Team,

I’m writing to tell you how much I am enjoying WP7 Mango and about a small disaster .

Let me preface by the fact I’ve been an iOS user since iPhone 1.

A few weeks ago I purchased a Samsung Focus S through ATT. I’ve been following the development of Mango since early spring and was waiting on the right piece of hardware to take the contractual dive. So I did it. I couldn’t be happier.

Then last week happened. It was HP Sales Kick Off in Las Vegas. I was warned by my team mates, “You can’t beat Vegas.” They meant this in more ways than one. I wasn’t trying to “beat” Vegas but I had an awesome time. Working from my WP7 was great, Outlook was flawless, MS Office OneNote was killer and SkyDrive kept track of my photos. I was evangelizing the device all week.

Wednesday night my device got wet somehow. The screen got unresponsive. I powered down for 24 hours and the Samsung Focus S came back to life. I flew home Friday evening and headed home for some much needed R&R. I plugged in my phone and a few minutes later she was smoking. I fried my phone. I don’t know how this happened because I had charged the phone earlier in the airport and even earlier while still in Vegas and the Focus S charged as usual with no hiccups.

Vegas won.

So here is the purpose of this whole message. I’m asking for a new device.

Here is my deliverable.

I work in a HP office with more than 400 ISR. I am the only one I know of that uses WP7. I evangelize the product both at work and at play with friends. I truly love the platform and my device.

I really can’t shell out a few hundred dollars for a new unlocked WP7 and a new device would really make the holidays awesome.

If there is anyway your team can help me out, I will do everything I can to spread the good word of WP7.

Thanks for your time,

Joe
